The “REMY” housing site, located at 9388 Cambie Road in Richmond, is the first six-storey wood-frame residential development built in BC and features energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling, co-op cars and green roofing as a part of the development’s eco-friendly design.
REMY includes a total of 81 units:
- 33 Seniors’ Rental Housing (SRH) apartments – Residents of SRH apartments must meet Rent Geared to Income (RGI) qualifications for low-income seniors and people with disabilities. These units are owned by BC Housing and managed by S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
- 48 affordable rental apartments for low- to moderate-income families and singles – These 48 units are owned and managed by S.U.C.C.E.S.S and are eligible for the S.A.F.E.R. program (Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters) under BC Housing.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. owns and operates 38 studio and 15 one-bedroom self-contained affordable rental units for low-income seniors at Storeys, located at 8080 Anderson Road in Richmond’s city centre. Tenants in our units must be an eligible applicant as defined in the Housing Agreement with the City of Richmond. All rental units are eligible for the S.A.F.E.R. (Shelter Aid for Elderly Renter) program under BC Housing.
Storeys exemplifies a unique partnership between all three levels of government and five non-profit housing providers, including S.U.C.C.E.S.S., to create 129 units of supportive and affordable housing units and a social service hub for Richmond’s vulnerable residents. This development is one-of-a-kind in Canada and represents a best practice model for municipalities to develop affordable housing. Households, including lone-parent families, individuals overcoming addiction, seniors previously at-risk of homelessness, and individuals dealing with mental health concerns, now have a safe, secure and affordable place to call home. For many others, Storeys has become a focal point in their community – by providing a space for residents to access immigrant settlement services, employment skills, healthy and affordable meals, social activity, and meaningful connection.
The project has been awarded the Group Constellation Award by the City of Richmond in April 2018, as well as an award for Planning Excellence in Social Planning by the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Located at 7434 Kingsway, Burnaby, B.C., Hillside Gardens is a family complex located in Southeast Burnaby. It consists of 15 three-storey buildings providing apartment suites from two to four bedrooms. Many Hillside Gardens residents are new to Canada. The current tenant mix also consists of some long-term residents, including immigrants or refugee families with diverse multi-cultural backgrounds.This project aims to provide the tenants with safe and supportive housing to make the transition into a new home and country easier for them. Through tenant support services, our ultimate goal is to encourage their independence and self-reliance. Regular resident programs offered include a homework club for elementary students, adult ESL classes, cooking groups, health and educational workshops. In the summer, there are also children’s day camps, field trips and games carnival.

The Village, completed in 2010, provides below market, affordable and market rental housing. 168 suites comprising of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom suites located in two mid-rise condominium buildings at 80 Walter Hardwick Avenue and 122 Walter Hardwick Avenue, Vancouver. Both buildings are SAFER-Home certified, with some units specifically designed for individuals in wheelchairs/scooters. Other nearby amenities include parkland, walking plazas, a publicly accessible waterfront and Creekside Community Centre with a non-motorized boating facility (often used for dragon boat racing). The area has child care facilities, a medical clinic, a grocery store (Urban Fare), a drug store (London Drugs), many restaurants and numerous other amenities within 5 minutes’ walk. The Village is also conveniently located on several major transit routes.

Located at 341 Gore Avenue in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Orange Hall provides newly renovated and self-contained residential units for the homeless, those at risk of homelessness and those with disabilities who struggle to make ends meet due to limited access to resources. With our tenant-focused services, dignity and respect for all tenants is a value that we preserve.
Other than providing safe, secure and affordable accommodation for tenants, our support services aim to enhance access to other community-based support and services. This in turn helps individuals manage their home, build self-reliance and foster resilience against homelessness.
Through social and recreational programs, one of our goals is to help tenants develop life skills and better their education, employment, and health.

Located at Vancouver’s Chinatown District at 251 Union Street, Solheim Place provides 86 residential units for low income families, seniors and independent living persons with disabilities. The rent is 100% rent-geared-to-income (30% of gross income) in order to maintain the affordability of the units. There are 60 one-bedroom units for seniors and 14 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom units for families. Some units are modified according to the tenant’s physical conditions. Many tenants have lived in the building since it opened in 1992. They have long-standing ties to the neighbourhood and have access to affordable prices for groceries and many other goods. This development is managed under S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Housing Society.
