Vancouver, BC – S.U.C.C.E.S.S. issues the following statement concerning recent bigoted remarks in the Lower Mainland:

”Immigrants, refugees, and ethno-cultural based communities of all backgrounds to Canada have a long and valued history of contribution and achievement to Canadian society. Because of our diversity, our communities will continue to thrive and excel from the inclusion and tolerance of all peoples and all walks of life. Divisive statements and behavior have no place in Canada’s vision for an equitable and inclusive society. As we stand together to build Canada’s future, we remain guided by our values of multiculturalism, equality and openness.”

Signatory organizations supported the above statement:

  • Canadian Japanese Community
  • Canadian Korean Community
  • Immigrant Services Society of BC
  • Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society
  • S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
