The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Social Service Centre, located at the Dr. Dorothy Lam Building on West Pender Street, is at the meeting point of downtown and Chinatown of Vancouver. It offers a comprehensive range of social and community services to help new immigrants and citizens overcome language and cultural barriers to become participating and contributing members of society. It is the Head Office of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and also the office of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation.

Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home (the “Care Home”), named in honour of its key supporter, Mr. Simon K.Y. Lee, is a multi-level care facility managed by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care Society. It began admitting its first residents on September 24, 2001.

The Care Home is mandated to provide quality residential care and holistic health services that respect the unique traditional and cultural values of the seniors it serves. Its vision is to become a centre of excellence which delivers culturally appropriate care, and provides integrated programs and services to complete the continuum of health services for seniors.

Bi-lingual (English and Chinese) staff provides professional resident care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Twenty one beds are designated for cognitively impaired residents requiring special environmental adaptations. Others are for complex care residents. The Chieng’s Adult Day Centre started its operation in January 2003. This Centre provides health monitoring, therapeutic activities and social activities for seniors. Chieng’s Adult Day Centre

The Centre has the mission to provide quality day health services to seniors through integrated programs/services and bridging seniors with the community. It is situated on the main level of the north end of the facility complex. It contains a lounge, an activity area, a kitchen, a dining room, a meeting room and a quiet room.

The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The program offers lunch, recreational activities, health monitoring and health education for seniors. Additional services such as podiatry, hairdressing, etc. are available for a fee.

The Centre also provides respite care for medically frail seniors or those with dementia and chronic disease management who are being cared for at home by family members. For some clients, the program helps them maintain their functional abilities.

Fraser Service Centre is established to provide services to residents in south Vancouver area. The SUCCESS Immigrant Settlement and Integration Program can provide you with essential information about government services and connect you with key resources in your community. Over the years, the Centre has networked with local service providers, community and political leaders to promote the multiculturalism and integration of new Canadians into the community.

Granville Service Centre

The Granville Service Centre is primarily a settlement service centre with strong cultural competence for Mandarin-speaking clients in the south Vancouver area. We also serve newcomers from diverse cultural backgrounds. We deliver settlement programs to help new immigrants overcome cultural and language barriers and gain knowledge and resources necessary to adapt to the Canadian way of life.

Harmony House

Located just next to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home, Harmony House consists of the first four stories of a condominium high rise. There is a dining room on the ground floor which can also serve as a multi purpose room. Harmony House primarily serves Chinese residents, but residents of other ethnicities are also welcome. Staff can speak English, Cantonese/Mandarin.

There is table service in the main dining room at lunch and supper. Chinese meals are served regularly. Emergency response is available 24 hours, and staff is always on site.
