Title: Facilitator

Salary: $23.64 to $25.08/hour

Reports to: Centre Manager


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Workshop Facilitation:

  • Deliver a variety of program workshops to enhance clients’ employability (e.g. job search skills, career exploration, life skills)
  • Facilitate and develop a dynamic and engaging set of job search and life skills workshops for participants
  • Assist participants in developing individualized and self-directed action and career portfolios
  • Follow up with participants through one-on-one coaching and support
  • Provide client progress notes in a timely and professional manner to case managers
  • Customize participants’ resumes to fit identified opportunities and conduct mock interviews to prepare participants for the job interviews
  • Provide job search support and employment connections/opportunities to program participants
  • Coordinate and participate in program events to connect clients and employers/mentors
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as required
  • Support clients to achieve sustainable employment
  • Ensure that all services provided meet the service standards and are consistent with the agency’s philosophy

Program Administration:

  • Compile client progress notes
  • Collect data and prepare reports on a monthly basis and when required
  • Collect evaluation feedback from clients and prepare summary and analysis of findings

Promotion and Marketing:

  • Communicate and outreach with community service providers for marketing and client referrals


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Education, or related discipline. Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation or demonstrated plan to pursue the CCDP designation an asset
  • Possess Personality Dimension Level 1 Facilitator Certificate
  • 3 or more years of experience in facilitating one or more of the following workshops/group activities: job search, basic life skills, essential work skills and soft skills
  • Excellent knowledge of community resources and services in Great Vancouver area
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring clients
  • Demonstrated experience working with job seekers with multi-cultural and diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in developing and delivering job search skills workshops and related activities
  • Experience and knowledge in career counselling
  • Understanding systemic barriers to employment particularly among client inclusion groups


Job Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough and timely documentation, and administrative skills
  • Competent to handle multiple tasks, work stress and deadlines
  • Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, E-mail and social media
  • Strong digital literacy skills including ability to deliver services using technology
  • Ability to apply an outcomes-based approach in service delivery
  • Ability to leverage government and community resources to support client
  • Ability to guide clients in developing and implementing job search strategies
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse clients
  • Ability to adapt to program changes
  • Passionate about helping people
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to excellence in service delivery
  • Able to work independently and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong individual and group facilitation skills


Other Requirements

  • Able to work a flexible schedule between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM from Monday to Friday
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required
