Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Work Experience Services, Job Search Services, and Job Sustainment Services
  • Work closely with employers, business associations, and industry associations to cultivate job opportunities for clients and enhance employer capacity to recruit, train and retain clients for diverse workplaces
  • Conduct an assessment and develop an Employment Plan that identifies the strengths of the client, their barriers and the ideal job opportunities for the client
  • Identify job placement, specifically for persons with disabilities and multiple barriers
  • Conduct and manage schedule of one-on-one job development meetings with clients
  • Plan and lead weekly Job Search Strategy workshops
  • Market candidates to employers and open job opportunities by helping candidates to tailor resumes
  • Assist in maintaining online job board and sending job leads to candidates
  • Manage applicant tracking system in order to keep candidate files organized, create database of employer contact details, track day-to-day activities and regularly update Case Managers on candidate activity
  • Liaise with employers to organize targeted hiring events and connect them with other services provided by SUCCESS
  • Organize employer hiring events/fairs in the community


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary certificate, degree, diploma in a relevant field (e.g. career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, HR management and marketing)
  • Hold Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation or demonstrated plan to pursue the CCDP designation
  • 2 years of work experience in a social service environment, preferably as a job developer and/or job coach
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting client needs assessments
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring clients
  • Experience in working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in building partnerships with employers, community agency and other stakeholders
  • Proven record of on-going professional development in the field


Job Skills and Abilities:

  • In addition to English, fluency in one or more of the major languages spoken in Richmond an asset
  • Strong skills with coaching, mentoring and motivating clients during the job search and job sustainment process
  • Ability to support and facilitate employers to hire, develop and retain their employees of diverse background
  • Ability to cultivate job opportunities for clients
  • Solid knowledge of local market trends and information
  • Understanding systemic barriers to employment particularly among client inclusion groups
  • Understanding barriers experienced by employers in recruiting, hiring, training and maintaining workers
  • Strong digital literacy skills including ability to deliver services using technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse clients

Other Requirements:

  • Able and willing to work weekends and evenings as required
  • Clear Criminal Record Check required
