Mr. Chan is a retired photojournalist from Hong Kong. He started as a darkroom assistant/junior photographer with the Hong Kong Tiger Standard (now known as The Standard), and worked his way up to the chief photographer position at South China Morning Post. During a career that spanned more than three decades, he won over 30 international press picture awards, earning him the status of a master in photojournalism.
The photographs in the book and the exhibition reveal heart throbbing natural disasters, depressing sights of the refugee influx, and intimate stories of life in Hong Kong. These moments captured by Mr. Chan invariably bring you back to the time period of the 60’s through the 90’s.
