Sherming Yiu Added to Cast of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Gala 2008

Vancouver - Ms. Betty Funston, Co-Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Gala 2008, brought the latest development of the Gala to the media at a press conference today.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Gala 2008 returns to General Motors Place on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 (7th Day of the Lunar New Year.)  With an audience of over 13,000, this charitable event is one of the most anticipated community events in Vancouver. A total of $380,000 is expected to be raised from this event.

The Gala begins with an exclusive banquet followed by a star studded variety show with the brightest and most talented performers and artists in the Asian entertainment arena, including Justin, Edmond Leung, Theresa Fu, Eric Suen, Hins Cheung, Fiona Sit, Niki Chow and Shino Lin plus Sherming Yiu, a welcome return from last year’s gala.   

Prior to event date, fans have the opportunity to meet their idols from Hong Kong and Taiwan at “Meeting with the Stars”, presented by TELUS, at 5pm on Monday, February 11 at Aberdeen Centre, Richmond.

As a companion fundraising effort, the annual S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Raffle sale began last December.  Raffle tickets are $3 each, or $15 for a book of five tickets plus store discount coupons.   The Grand Prize is a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE donated by Toyota BC Dealers.  Total value of prizes is worth over $39,000.  Raffle winning numbers will be drawn at the Gala on February 13 at General Motors Place. 

All proceeds will benefit S.U.C.C.E.S.S. services to sustain under-funded or unfunded programs for those in need in the communities.
