FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Canada East meets West Youth Exchange Program Vancouver, B.C. - S.U.C.C.E.S.S. announced the successful collaboration of "Canada East meets West Youth Exchange Program", which is jointly supported by S.U.C.C.E.S.S Youth Leadership Millennium (YLM) Program, Toronto-based Vision Youth Program and Civic Education Society. Under the exchange program, altogether thirty young people will spend 10 days in BC and one week in Toronto. Established in 2003, "Canada East meets West Youth Exchange Program" is held bi-annually, which comes to the 4th year in 2010. The main objectives are to provide youth of various cultural background, especially new to Canada, an opportunity to meet each other, to learn the Canadian history and to understand the value of different cultures. One of the highlights of this program is that young people can visit the First Nation people in both BC and Ontario and learn how First Nations has contributed to the Canadian history. Moreover, the tailor-made camping program also helps the young leaders build up team work and explore outdoor survival skills. Launched in 1998, the Youth Leadership Millennium (YLM) Program is a unique program to develop leadership by providing youth an opportunity to learn Canadian culture and leadership skills, and to increase community awareness of social issues and community participation.
