Recipient of Reflective Workforce Award
Another reason to recognize S.U.C.C.E.S.S. as a ‘truly multicultural organization’

Abbotsford, BC - S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fraser Valley Self Employment Program (FVSEP) was the proud winner of the Reflective Workforce Award at the 8th Annual Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards hosted by Abbotsford Community Services, a not for profit organization in partnership with the Fraser Valley Regional Library, Mission Community Services, Chilliwack Community Services and Crosspoint Communications on March 5th 2010.

The Cultural Diversity Awards annual event has been a great success with over 400 people attending each year. The awards recognize the best practices of Fraser Valley organizations and businesses that work towards building an inclusive community, providing their clients and/or customers with accessible environments, and having reflective workforces for all. The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fraser Valley Self Employment Program team was also nominated for three other categories including Marketing/Outreach, Innovative Initiative, and Champion of Diversity. Hundreds of community members were in attendance at this high profile event including the Mayor of Abbotsford George Peary, the Mayor of Mission James Atebe, MLA for South Abbotsford John VanDongen and Abbotsford Police Chief Bob Rich.

Not only was S.U.C.C.E.S.S. a winner but was a proud supporter of the event by being a Silver Sponsor for the award ceremony. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. CEO Tung Chan hopes that the Reflective Workforce awarded to the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fraser Valley Self Employment Program will demonstrate that the goal of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is to be an agency that is recognized as a truly multicultural organization designed to build bridges, harvest diversity and foster integration through service and advocacy.

Founded in 1973, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is one of the largest social service providers in British Columbia with over 20 locations and 2 overseas offices. For more details, please visit: http://www.success.bc.ca/.
