Michael Ignatieff to Visit S.U.C.C.E.S.S.

Vancouver, BC – Liberal Party Leader Michael Ignatieff, accompanied by Liberal Members of Parliament and candidates, will be visiting S.U.C.C.E.S.S., one of the largest social service agencies in BC, to meet with the board members and senior staff for a round table discussion on Friday March 19, 2010. The delegation hopes to gain valuable insights into the challenges facing new Canadians today and to be updated on S.U.C.C.E.S.S.' work on those issues.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Founding Chair and Chair of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation Maggie Ip, and Vice Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Christine Brodie will provide opening remarks and a brief overview of the evolution and multiculturalism at S.U.C.C.E.S.S. It will be followed by a general discussion on new immigrants’ needs, English Language Service for Adults and Employment Assistance Service Programs. Guests, media and staff will then be escorted on a Walk-Through tour of the Keefer Employment Service Centre and a workshop.

Media will have access to the round table discussion at 11:00 am. There will be a photo-op for media between 11:10am and 11:15am after the round table discussion and another photo-op at the Keefer Employment Service Centre during and after the Walk-Through tour.
