MEDIA ADVISORY Vancouver Chinatown and Winter Olympics – What’s On Get a Glimpse of Vancouver Chinatown history while watching diverse performances Vancouver, B.C - People living in or visiting the downtown core area are welcome to join the Winter Olympics at Vancouver Chinatown event to celebrate the 2010 Olympic Winter Games starting February 15th to 20th from 10:00am to 4:00 pm at Choi Hall, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Social Service Centre on 28 West Pender Street in Vancouver. The FREE event is provided by S.U.C.C.E.S.S., one of the largest multi-level multicultural social service providers in British Columbia, and funded by the City of Vancouver. Organizations including; Chinatown Merchant Association, Business Improvement Association, Chinese Revitalization Committee and Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver will provide information on Chinatown’s heritage and its many business opportunities available to immigrants and Canadian residents as well as an exciting look into Chinatown’s rich history and its future prospects. Live action of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games will be projected onto a giant screen for all to watch while local residents and visitors are welcome to play a game or two on the Nintendo Wii or enjoy cultural performances like Kung Fu and traditional dancing. Light refreshments will be provided including coffee, tea and cookies.
