Project Remember: Paint-a-thon

On October 27th youth from A chance to choose and CABE Senior High will be painting the Legion in Port Moody. A hot dog sale at the same time coordinated by the Port Moody Lions Club will raise money to fund this painting project.

Why do we have this project:

  •  Each year the Royal Canadian Legion donates $4.3 million and 140,000 volunteer hours into youth sports program. Project Remember is our way of saying Thank-you.
  •  Oral communication and working with others are essential skills that youth need to develop for work, learning and life.
  •  Past intakes of A chance to choose have raised money by running car washes at the Port Moody Legion. Project Remember is our way of saying thank you.
  •  Youth from A chance to chooseand CABE Secondary School will gain Work Experience credits towards their high school diploma for painting the Legion.
  •  Most importantly, Project Remember is about remembering and honouring all of the young men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.

Please come out and honour our vets on Oct 27th. Bring along a paint brush, enjoy a barbecued hot dog, and share some stories and experiences with young people.

All media are cordially invited.
