S.U.C.C.E.S.S., in partnership with Richmond Centre for Disability (RCD), will co-host an event called the Disability Services Awareness Day on October 24, 2009 at the Richmond Cultural Centre.
The event is sponsored by the Coast Capital Savings Credit Union and the Western Economic Diversification Canada and supported by the City of Richmond. It aims to provide essential information for people with disabilities on how to access the existing disabilities services, particularly in the employment and self-employment areas. It also aims to introduce immigrants to various resources, tools, equipment and technology which will enhance their employability in the labour market. The event will comprise mini exhibition and seminars. Topics of the seminars will include Registered Disability Saving Plan (RDSP), Handy DART Services and Canada Pension for Disability.
