ATTN: ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

Vancouver – On August 8, Typhoon Morakot swept through southern Taiwan. The worst flooding in Taiwan in 50 years has caused 153 dead, 464 missing and the destruction over 20 bridges and serious damage to 352 roadways. Tzu Chi Canada and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will jointly host a press conference to launch a new appeal to raise funds for the victims. Update to date, Tzu Chi has raised C$1,080,000 while S.U.C.C.E.S.S. will receive donations through its 8 offices.
