2009 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Gala Ready for a Spectacular Show on Friday

Vancouver – Joann Wong-Bittle and Dr. Raymond Kwan, Co-Chairs of 2009 S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Fundraising Gala, officially introduced the performing cast to the media.

This year’s cast is comprised of three distinguished artists from Hong Kong: Chet Lam, renowned singer and song writer, Ha Yu, newly crowned Best Actor at the 2008 TVB Anniversary Awards, and Annabelle Louie. “It will most definitely be a memorable evening.” said Joann and Raymond.

“S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation is extremely excited to have these talented artists here in Vancouver to showcase their very best to our honoured guests and their fans,” said Betty Funston, Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S. projects to have targeted proceeds amounting to $168,000, which will benefit services and programs that are under-funded or un-funded by the government, particularly those for seniors, youth, women and families.

Immediately after the press conference, media from across Metro Vancouver had the long-awaited opportunities to interview the performing artists.

“For the past 36 years, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has become a multi-service provider delivering settlement, counseling, group, employment, business and economic development services. Currently we have 20 locations in the Metro Vancouver, one in Fort St. John and 2 overseas offices in Taipei and Seoul,” said Peter Kwok, Chair of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.  “We are proud to say that we have been innovatively integrating new Canadians for 36 years and we look forward to many more years to come.”

Approximately 20% of the agency’s $30 million annual operating budget is raised from the community through donations, membership dues, corporate sponsorships and fundraising events organized by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation, such as the annual Walk with the Dragon, Charity Golf Tournament and the Gala.”
