Ms. Angela Y. MacKenzie is a freelance journalist, who has more than eight years of experience covering municipal politics. Born in Seoul, Korea, she immigrated to Canada with her parents as a one-year-old. She grew up in Toronto, Ont. and moved to B.C. to attend the University of B.C., where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and political science. She later earned her journalism credentials at Langara College and has worked as a reporter since 1999. She is a former editor of Ricepaper, a national magazine focused on Asian-Canadian arts and culture, and her stories have appeared in newspapers throughout Greater Vancouver, including the Vancouver Sun, the Coquitlam Now and the North Shore News.
Ms. MacKenzie joined C3 Society -- a non-profit organization that helps to bridge the Korean and Canadian communities -- in 2004 as editor of the C3 News & Views newsletter and currently serves as the director of communications.
