Mr. Paul Cheng graduated from the University of Victoria in 1997 with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, he has been working with BC Hydro and is currently an Operations Planning Engineer specialized in short-term power generation planning.
 
In early 1999, Mr. Paul Cheng, signed up with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. as a frontline volunteer for Groups and Community Services and Training Institute. His long history of community involvement also extends to other organizations such as the Multicultural Helping House, Douglas College, ISS, and SITEBC, where he supports underemployed skilled immigrants as a job mentor.
 
Mr. Cheng is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists BC, a founding Board member (and the 2006/07 president) with the Association of Chinese Canadian Professionals, and a foster parent with UNICEF, Plan Canada, and World Vision.
