Objectives

• to increase public awareness and knowledge of problem gambling and its impact on individuals, families and communities
• to provide individual and group counselling services to clients and their family members, and to assist clients to achieve a stable and healthy lifestyle

Scope of Services
1.Public Awareness & Prevention

• to promote public awareness on problem gambling
• to provide information to the public on the nature of problem gambling and healthy alternatives
• to identify risk factors and characteristics of problem gambling in the local community

2.Clinical Counselling

• to provide counselling and therapy to individuals and families with regard to emotional support, financial management, relaxation, leisure planning, dealing with loss, skill development, family relations and relapse prevention
• to match client to appropriate program

Anyone can call the helpline to take a brief, objective and scientific assessment to understand one’s own gambling behaviour, habit, psychological changes, financial situation and interpersonal relationship etc. You can know whether you have problems with gambling by just simply adding up the score. Prevention is better than cure and it is imperative to identify the problem early and receive counseling. Family and friends of a problem gambler can also understand the impacts of problem gambling on themselves and their families by calling the helpline.
