The Tri-City Employment Services Centre provides a comprehensive range of programs and services to enhance the employability and career development of new immigrants and citizens in Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam. We also serve residents of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
Our programs are aimed at assisting new immigrants integrate into Canadian society, and to help them gain the knowledge and resources necessary to become productive members of the community.
Career & Employment Resource Portal
Provides information about career & job fairs, workshops, trade talks, services and programs;
- Speedy access to over one thousand resource web sites via the bookmarks in the virtual resource centre;
- Job posting system that can be accessed by members only;
- Downloadable templates and resource materials via the job search resources section;
- Online forum for networking, sharing resources and success stories.
Work Resource Centre
- Provides telephone & fax machine; job board & job lines; photocopier; resource library; computer, printer & scanner; high speed internet service.
Employment Resource Centre
- Needs assessment & determination;
- Develop return to work action plan with client case management;
- Referral to career exploration and job search services
- Assist eligible clients to access target wage subsidy, self employment, job creation and skill development employment benefits;
- On-going counselling and support; follow-up with client until employment is secured.

- This program is a Federal Initiative to assist foreign trained professionals to gain valuable information about how to re-enter their careers in Canada.
Job Mentors are matched with foreign trained individuals to share their time and expertise and help them learn about their careers in Canada

Job Search Evolutions consists of three interventions, customized to prepare clients for job search in Canada:
Job Search Skills Modules, providing insights to the labour market, guiding clients to prepare resumes and cover letters, acquire and practice interview skills; as well as sustainable job search techniques such as networking, cold calls and informational interviews.
Technical and Non-Technical Career Cafes offering structured, profession-specific sessions designed to assist clients in marketing themselves to employers with particular industries, and networking with peers and potential employers.
Career Mentorship Connection (Job Mentoring) aiming to enhance clients’ employability in their trained profession by pairing up unemployed skilled immigrants with mentors with similar qualifications and work experience in Canada.
Regular Language Support Workshops in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean and Farsi assisting job seekers experiencing language barriers with all aspects of job search. Language Support Workshops in other languages may be arranged by appointment.
